UK Issues National Protocol for Stroke Emergency Care

In the United Kingdom, the national Pre-hospital Stroke Guidelines Group has issued new guidelines and protocols for the emergency care of patients having or suspected of having a stroke or TIA.
Citing evidence that stroke victims who receive prompt emergency intervention have better outcomes, the guidelines cover these areas:

- pre-hospital management of stroke;
- brain imaging;
- arrival at hospital;
- the provision of information and support for patients and their families;
