Question: What Is a Stroke Unit?
Answer: Stroke units are areas inside of a hospital where physicians, nurses, and other ancillary personnel who have ample training and experience in stroke management, provide care for acute stroke patients. Management of acute stroke patients in this type of medical setting has been shown by several studies to improve a patient's chance of recovery and independent living.
