What Is a Metastatic Brain Tumor?

Definition: A tumor that migrates into the brain after breaking away from a parent tumor in a distant organ (e.g., lung). Examples of common kinds of tumors that migrate to the brain include breast, lung, kidney and skin (melanoma).
