Blood tests, especially those which evaluate whether or not a person suffers from a coagulation disorder, are very important in stroke diagnosis. Why is this?

When a person suffers a stroke, one of the first questions in the mind of a stroke doctor is: Why did this happen? what caused this stroke? There are many possible reasons and several disease candidates, but one of the most important ones is a disease in which blood clotting (coagulation) is defective.
